At Select Real Estate we care about the Mount Washington Valley community. With this in mind we have started a new group of entries. Each week we will present a a few events that educate, assist or entertain everyone living in or visiting the beautiful North Conway area.

The Annual Climb Against Cancer
The 11th Annual Climb Against Cancer to benefit Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation will be held at Cranmore Mountain Resort. Climbers gather pledges from family, friends and co-workers and then hike up and down the slopes of Cranmore, or take a leisurely walk around the duck pond. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the hike begins at 10:00 a.m. Entertainment at the top of the mountain, followed by lunch, raffles and awards at 12:30 p.m. Contact 603-356-5083 or visit the Jen’s Friends website for further information.
Bake Sale and Local Produce
The Effingham Preservation Society is serving home-made treats every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grange Building on Route 153 in the Center Effingham Historic District. Folks are welcome to sit down and enjoy coffee, conversation and the historic setting. Proceeds are used to maintain and renovate this historic landmark.
Effingham Chili Cookoff
Celebrate Effingham will present its second Annual Chili Cookoff at the municipal building on School Street in Effingham. Prizes will be awarded for best chili, hottest chili, best professional chili, and other prizes. For more information on this event contact Kathy at 603-539-7878.
The AMC Evening Program Series
The AMC Pinkham Notch Visitors Center will present Hiking the Appalachian Trail with Joe Carson at 8 p.m. All programs are free and open to the public. For more information call 603-466-2727.
