The snow is melting quickly! Soon Storyland will open and lots of families will be visiting us here in the North Conway area. MAybe you would like to join them? Come join us in the White Mountains for all the great shopping, awesome events and all the great restaurants.  The North Conway area has something for everyone. Each week we will present a few of these that educate, assist or entertain everyone living in or visiting the beautiful North Conway, NH area. Friday 27 

Friday Gliders Social Ski.
The Friday Gliders Classic Social Ski will be held every Friday at 1 p.m. through Mar. 27. Very fun and social with instructional tips. Includes apres ski stretching and refreshments. Skill level – experienced beginner to expert. Call 603-383-9355 for more information. 

Friday Painters’ Open Studio Group.
The new Open Studio sessions will meet Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon at the MWVAA’s office, located next to the RSN studios on the lower level of Norcross Place in North Conway village. Artists should bring their own supplies and are also welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. The Friday Painters group is free for members and a $5 donation is suggested for nonmembers. 

Monthly Supper.
The Knights of Columbus will hold their monthly supper from 5 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains church in North Conway. This month the menu includes eggplant parmesan, vegetable lasagna with garden salad and fresh Italian bread. $8/adults, $4/children. 

Story Time in Denmark, Maine.
The Denmark Library will host story time on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. For more information call 207-452-2200.

Story Time at MWV Children’s Museum.

Saturday 28 

Annual Spring Splash.
Black Mountain in Jackson will host the Annual Spring Splash which will include a pond skimming contest, live music, entertainment and delicious food for the price of the lift ticket. Fore more information, call the mountain at 603-383-4490. 

Bartlett Historical Society Hours.
The Bartlett Historical Society will suspend their hours through the winter. Anyone wishing to tour the Historical Society may do so by appointment. For more information call 603-383-4110. Brownfield Lions Club Dance. The Brownfield Lions Club will hold a dance at the Lions Den located on Routes 5 and 113 from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Music will be provided by Linwood Cash and the Ridge Riders. Admission is for adults 21 and older. Singles/$10 and couples/$20. The dances are BYOB. A 50/50 and bottle raffle will also be held. For more information, call 207-935-2681. 

CAHS Volunteer Orientations.
The Conway Area Humane Society will hold volunteer orientation from 11 a.m. to noon at the shelter located at 223 East Main Street in Conway. Anyone interested in volunteering may attend. For more information call Kim at 603-447-5605. 

Evening Program Series.

Puppy Playgroup.

Remick Farm Maple Sugaring Event.
Come to the Remick Farm and Museum in Tamworth for a day of maple sugaring from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. See and smell the maple sugaring process. Sample maple treats or have lunch of pancakes and maple sausage. Admission is $5 per person. For more information, call 603-323-7591.

Argentine Tango Class.
Join Isabel Costa, Argentine native, at the North Conway Community Center for tango lessons. Intermediates with some Tango experience meet at 1 p.m. and beginners meet at 2 p.m. Classes are $10 per person/per lesson. No partner necessary. New students welcomed anytime. Bearcamp Valley Food Festival.
 The 17th annual Taste of the Bearcamp Valley Food Festival will be held at the Whittier House in West Ossipee with two seatings at 4:30 and 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Whittier House and Bearcamp Valley School. Community School Auction.
The Community School in South Tamworth will hold their yearly auction at the Riverside B&B on Route 16A in Intervale from 3 to 6 p.m. A variety of unique items have been donated. Spanish Lessons.

Yoga Classes.
An eclectic style of Kripalu Yoga is offered every day except Fridays by Carlene of Symmetree Yoga. The groups will practice Hatha yoga postures paired with breath, meditation and relaxation. The Mt. Harrison House Resale Shoppe.

Wednesday 1 

Art Festival.
The Pine Tree School in Center Conway will hold an art festival from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be hundreds of art works on display and art activities for children and adults. The art festival is free and open to the public. 

Camera Club Meeting.
The North Country Camera Club meets Sept. through May on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Ham Room of the Conway Public Library. Old Time String Band.
Mountain Top Music Center’s Old Time String Band will be plucking away with jam sessions on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Music Center. Bring your fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, dulcimer, recorder, flute, harmonica, accordion, autoharp, drum, etc. This class is taught by Seth Austen, a musician with over 25 years experience teaching and performing.  The White Mountain Stamp Club.
