Community Food Center.
The Sandwich/Tamworth Community Food Center based at St. Andrew’s in the Valley Episcopal Church on Old Route 25 is open every Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m., except for holidays. 

‘Facing East.’
M&D Productions will present Carol Lynn Pearson’s “Facing East” at the M&D Production Theater in North Conway. The show is an intense exploration of the Mormon faith. Friday Painters’ Open Studio Group.
The new Open Studio sessions will meet Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon at the MWVAA’s office, located next to the RSN studios on the lower level of Norcross Place in North Conway village. Artists should bring their own supplies and are also welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. The Friday Painters group is free for members and a $5 donation is suggested for non-members. 

Junior Rifle Team Meetings.
The Fryeburg Fish and Game Junior Rifle Team meets every Friday at 7 p.m. in the Harold N. Sanborn Room of the Brownfield Recreation Center in Brownfield, Maine. New members welcome, for more information, call 207-935-2625. 

Man of La Mancha.
Arts in Motion will present The Man of La Mancha at the Eastern Slope Playhouse on Main Street in North Conway, today through Sunday. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday at 2 p.m. Admission is $15 per person and $10 for seniors and students. Storytelling Festival.
Lovell’s Brick Church for the Performing Arts in Lovell, Maine will open the 2009 season with the Mountain Storytelling Festival at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening with five storytellers. Story Time in Denmark, Maine.

Story Time at MWV Children’s Museum.
The MWV Children’s Museum presents its weekly half-hour story time at 10 a.m. at the museum in North Conway. Children from birth to six years old are the focal audience for this fun and informative story time. Call (603) 356-2992 for more information. 

Saturday 30 

Bartlett Historical Society Hours.
The Bartlett Historical Society will suspend their hours through the winter. Anyone wishing to tour the Historical Society may do so by appointment. For more information call (603) 383-4110. 

Bird and Flower Walk.
The Tin Mountain Conservation Center in Albany will offer a bird and flower walk at the Stone House in Chatham from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a great opportunity to view both field and forest birds, as well as late spring flowers in bloom. Freedom Food Pantry.
Open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon for residents of Freedom, Effingham and Ossipee at the First Christian Church in Freedom Village. For more information call (603) 539-2637. 

Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Karla’s Pet Rendezvous will host the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at their new location in Conway from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome to meet the staff and take a tour. Inn to Inn Spring Herb Tour.
The Country Inns in the White Mountains will host their first annual Inn to Inn Spring Herb Tour today and tomorrow. The theme this year is culinary herbs. Sunday 31 

Meisters Mini-Golf Tournament.

Valley Community Garden Planting.

Agape Food Pantry.
Agape Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m., located at the Ossipee Valley Bible Church on Route 16 (across from NAPA) in West Ossipee. 

Argentine Tango Class.

Conway Dinner Bell.

Gibson Center Programs.
The Gibson Center for Senior Services in North Conway offers a number of activities and informational programs for seniors, including yoga and mobility classes, a game day, computer labs, dances, support groups, movies, health related service programs and trips. Call (603) 356-3231 for details. 

Life Drawing Sessions.
The Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association located at Norcross Circle in North Conway will hold life drawing session on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6 to 8 p.m. The class is $10 per session for members and $12 for non-members. Camera Club Meeting.
The North Country Camera Club meets Sept. through May on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Ham Room of the Conway Public Library. Grief Group.
A grief group will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the meeting room at The Met in North Conway Village. The program is free and open to the public to discuss feelings about the death of loved ones. Nature Nuts.

T.O.P.S.

June $1 A Bag Sale.
The thrift shop at the Lovell United Church of Christ located on Route 5 in Lovell, Maine will have $1 a bag sale for the month of June. The thrift shop is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Madison Library Toddler Playgroup.
The Madison Library will hold toddler playgroups every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. through November 20. Toddlers, babies, and caregivers meet and mingle in the children’s room. Call (603) 367-8545 for more information. 

Spring Trail Running Series.
Great Glen Trails will have a weekly trail running race series for all abilities and ages. Every Thursday for eight weeks, from May to July 2 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Racers can run/walk the 3.1 mile course. Short course available along with a mini course perfect for the kids. Awards for top three in each category. Prizes for competitors who complete six out of eight weeks are based on a raffle at the end of series awards party. Annual 24-Hour Bio-Blitz.
Tin Mountain Conservation Center located on Bald Hill Road in Albany will hold a 24-hour bio blitz of the Tin Mountain property. Meet at the Nature Learning Center at 4 p.m. Help conduct a biological survey of the property, taking inventory of species of birds, trees, mammals and more. Bicknell’s Thrush Tours.
The Mount Washington Auto Road will offer guided tours in search of the Bicknell’s Thrush. The thrush is a vary rare species with a limited breeding area. The tours depart from the base of the Mount Washington Auto Road at 5:30 a.m. Tours last approximately two hours. Cost is $45 per person and advance reservations are required. Farming, Past, Present and Future.
The Remick Museum in Tamworth will hold a free presentation at 1 p.m. regarding renewable energy. Kenneth Smith of Smith Energy will discuss small scale solar and wind generation. Refreshments will be served. This is free and open to the public. For more information, call (603) 323-7591.

Jackson Covered Bridge 10K Foot Race.
The White Mountain Milers will hold the 2009 Jackson Covered Bridge 10K foot race and Kids K Fun Run starting at the Jackson Covered Bridge. Registration is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Jackson Fire Station. Walkers begin at 9:30 a.m. and runners begin at 10 a.m. Kids K Run begins at 11:30 a.m. after the 10K race. Mountain Garden Club Annual Plant Sale.
The Mountain Garden Club will hold their annual plant sale at the North Conway Community Center at 9:30 a.m. The club will be offering annuals, perennials, herbs, houseplants, hanging baskets and more. Pie Crust Making and Rhubarb Workshop.

Shades of Gray.
The Arts in Motion Youth Players will present “Shades of Gray,” original work with writings submitted from local students about life, family and the world. Captain Enoch Remick House Victorian Tea.

Yoga Classes.
An eclectic style of Kripalu Yoga is offered every day except Fridays by Carlene of Symmetree Yoga. The groups will practice Hatha yoga postures paired with breath, meditation and relaxation.
