Are you a first time home buyer looking at real estate in North Conway, Conway, or Jackson?  Read on. First time home buyers in the Mount Washington Valley can take advantage of the First Time Homebuyers Federal Tax Credit. The North Conway Real Estate market has seen increased sales partly due to this federal program. Because of the program’s limitation there has been some confusion as to who is eligible and why. Recently New Hampshire’s own,  Ed Harrigan of Bank of America Mortgages sent us these FAQs on the $8000.00 First Time Buyer Credit.

Jim Lyons named White Mountain Board REALTOR of the Year

For the third time Jim Lyons is Realtor of the Year!

Conway, New Hampshire – The White Mountain Board of REALTORS® has announced that Jim Lyons of Select Real Estate has been chosen as the 2009 REALTOR® of the Year. View Jim’s listings here.

The REALTOR® of the Year award is given to one local REALTOR® each year, who displays outstanding REALTOR® spirit and demonstrates the highest levels of participation in civic activity within the community and involvement within the REALTOR® Association, at the local board level, as well as at the state and national levels. Jim, who was honored as the White Mountain Board’s 2005 and 2006 REALTOR® of the Year was 2008 State President of the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS®, and currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors as Immediate Past President. A REALTOR® since 1982, he opened Select Real Estate in Conway in 1985 and has served the local White Mountain Board of REALTORS® in many committee and leadership roles prior to being elected local Board President in 2005. He is a member of the REALTOR® Honor Society and has been recognized as the Highest Point Recipient for the local board for the past five years.

At the state association, Lyons serves on the Communications Committee, Public Policy Committee and the Legal Committee, chairing the Risk Management subcommittee. He has been trained as a mediator, providing dispute resolution services to association members throughout the state. At the National Association of REALTORS®, Lyons serves on the Risk Management Committee and is a Sterling member of the National Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee.

Fireworks and much more on July 4th in North Conway

While looking for North Conway Real Estate, take in the The Fourth of July celebration in Conway, North Conway and Jackson New Hampshire that has become a tradition for locals and visitors alike. Many families come to visit Jackson, New Hampshire and to watch the community’s fireworks display that explodes to life on the 3rd and is visible from the middle of the village.

The Forth of July kicks off with the Conway Parade, in Conway Village Saturday at 2:00 p.m. along Route 16. Remember to get there early to find a great spot along the parade route. The Independence Day Celebration continues in North Conway at 4:15 p.m followed by these other events being held in Schouler Park:

4:45 PM the Tina Titzer Act One Dance Company.North Conway Fireworks

5:45 PM Kennett High School Drumline

6:30 PM MWV Theater – High School Musical

7:30 PM Discount Gigolos Concert

At 9:30 PM North Conway’s Fireworks Finale. Visible from Schouler Park Young and old alike will love the fireworks should be visible from Schouler park and the base of Cranmore Mountain.

There will also be a Craft Fair on the front lawn of the Gibson Center running from 10-5 on July 3rd and July 4th and from 10 – 3 on July 5th. Located across from Schouler Park

And those of you who are lucky enough to live in Madison or Eidelweiss Village, you can enjoy the many beaches along Pea Porridge Pond.

Are you into motor boating?  Silver Lake, Conway Lake and Ossipee Lake are great places to take the family and enjoy a day out on the water. If you prefer to use a canoe or kayak there are many more ponds, rivers and lakes that dot the area that you can cruise.

Hiking, biking or horseback riding can be found throughout the Valley. There are literally hundreds of hiking trails in towns like Bartlett, Chatham, Hales Location and Freedom. Attitash and Great Glen Trails have some excellent biking on carriage roads as well as mountain biking trails. Farm by the River, Attitash and Black Mountain are a few of the favorites for horseback riding.
